Tropical Prints

Summer trend alert !

Tropical prints are taking over this summer. Although, Hawaiian and tropical prints are often considered as looking tacky, this summer season offers a more glam and modern version of island fever that is immerged within the fashion world.

Tropical prints spread its wings, trees, leaves , peaks and colors throughout the summer. The mix of all the flora and fauna of beaches, forests, gardens, islands and whatnot is exactly what we have been waiting for to enjoy the hot season properly and fashion wise.

Look 1: Reesha is wearing a palm print dress by Vero moda. Its fun and flirty in its bold print. She has paired it up with pointed heels from STEPpings. You can also pair them with flats.  Reesha has kept her look simple with minimal accessories- A ring, double stud earings and sunglasses. She has tried her hands on metallic tattoos and is wearing a metallic bracelet tattoo.

Look 2: Her second look is about one dress and two ways !
Here, She is wearing a black net sleeves top over the dress. This looks like a crop top over the tropical print skirt. She has opted for a turquoise blue neck piece from toniq, black gladiators from Cleo and double stud earings. Her look is comfortable and bold. Her messy bun adds to her stylish look.
Now there is no need to fear of wearing a good outfit on an insignificant day. Just think of different ways to wear an outfit and you are good to go.☺

The Denim Connection

Which fabric can withstand the intensity of a factory worker’s day, but still be stylish enough to wear to Fashion Week?
Which fabric is literally the greatest ever made? If you guessed denim, you’re right.
Denim takes the spotlight for our first shoot Lensed by yellowprism.in.

Anything in denim is standout on the catwalk in any season. Be it a denim jeans, a denim shirt dress, a denim maxi ,denim shorts/skirts or a denim jumpsuit.

Denim is an all-season, all-weather fabric. It’s almost like a second skin to a lot of us. But, No longer are our wardrobes stocked with only dark wash skinny jeans or a light wash denim shirts.

When it comes to completing a denim wardrobe(or growing, if you never plan to “complete” it, as in our case!)  it’s best to think outside of the jeans.
While there are many cuts and styles of this number floating around, we are particularly drawn to the maxi and jumpsuit style.

Kashika is wearing a denim maxi. This stylish maxi dress is constructed from soft denim which is of very light weight. It has a very relaxed fit and features a mandarin collar, button-through front, long sleeves, with roll up tab features, button cuffs and two slits on the front.
She has teamed this with a thin black belt to cover the seam on the waist.
Kashika has mastered the art of looking effortlessly cool and styled it with the sunglasses, a straw hat and pink wedges.

While the dress itself is casual and comfy, It also feels fresh and updated.
This dress is perfect for a holiday.
It can also be teamed with flat sandals and a sling bag. Remember to keep things easy and simple for running around 😉

Reesha is wearing a soft denim jumpsuit with a round neck and belt n loop closure. It has a graphic print of Donald Duck on the front and an attached hoodie on the back. For a stylish look Reesha has teamed it with a metallic silver tote, a watch and funky yellow flats. Her look is quirky and playful.

You can also team it with a funky pair of flats, sling bag or floppy hat for a fresh summery look. To keep it real cool and casual you can team it up with a pair of sneakers. For a bold and fashionable statement pair it up with open toe wedge heels.

We bought these thinking that they are really simple denim dresses, there’s no worry of it ever going out of fashion and it will be wearable all year round.

If you’re longing for some denim styles that will let your legs breathe in summer then denim maxi and the denim jumpsuit are the things you should have in your wardrobe.

Fall/Winter Edition

Hello everyone! It’s time to bid a farewell to sweet summer and an excited hello to winter!
I’m excited because i can finally take my fall/winter favorites out on a walk 😀 It is super easy and all you have to do is layer up, load up on cute shoes, bring out the jackets! 🙂
However, selecting the correct color palette for your wardrobe can be tricky so perhaps it would be best if you just stick with color classics that flatter everyone: sleek and simple earth  tones. It’s not hard to guess at what will be the big trends for any Fall season. You can put money on the fact that colors will be toned down, some cozy fabric will be on every runway, and that there will be coats. Lots of coats.
Here’s one classic look for the fall.

Reesha is wearing black jeggings with a pink printed top. She has layered it with a long woolen cardigan and matching pink heels. To give it an edgy look a sling bag has been added. I wore this outfit for lunch with friends. This outfit would suit best for the college or university too.

In my next blog post I’ll be showing how to use summer pieces in the winter and will be coming up with some cool DIY’s. That’s it for now.  Happy reading! 🙂

Coming to the details:
Kashika is wearing a soothing green, embroidered kurti, with long sleeves, full button placket, embroidered zari detailing the front bodice teamed with a dark green salwar bottom. She is wearing a lot of silver oxidised jwellery that compliments her look. A neckpiece, earrings, bangles and a ring showing her girl power. She has styled this dress with a pair of stone studded wedges.

Reesha is wearing a maxi dress with an ethnic touch. The dress is designed with traditional Indian styling. Chic and trendy are the two words that perfecty describe this maxi dress. It has got mirror detailing on the chest. She has styled this dress with a pair of jodhpuri flats and a Brass anklet in her leg. She has teamed up her outfit with statement jewelry- A metal cuff and ring, brass neckpiece and a chunky headchain. She has given the Indian look a bohemian twist.
